Two general coaches of the Jan Sadharan Express, 15269, travelling from Muzaffarpur to Ahmedabad, derailed near Bhauapur, in the Kanpur area of Uttar Pradesh. Senior railway officials, including the DRM, have reached the site and are investigating.

No casualties or injuries have been reported, and all passengers are said to be safe. Railway authorities and rescue teams are at the scene, and relief work is underway to restore the affected section of the track and facilitate the continued journey of the passengers.

The incident occurred at around 04:20 pm on Friday. The incident has, however, impacted train services on the Delhi-Howrah route, with some trains being cancelled or diverted.

Initial investigations suggest that the derailment may have been caused by the train’s engine colliding with an object on the tracks. Railway officials are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Further details on the matter are awaited.
