The ferry was bound for Bali’s Gilimanuk port, a 50-kilometer (30-mile) trip; however, it was reported to have sunk almost half an hour after leaving the port.

At least two people were reported dead and over 40 missing after a ferry carrying 65 people sank near Indonesia’s Bali.
The ferry, KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya sank only half an hour after it left East Java’s Ketapang port late Wednesday, the National Search and Rescue Agency said in a statement.
