Two die as speeding truck rams bike near Ballari

Ballari: Two men, including a motorcyclist, were killed on the spot after a collision between a bike and a truck at Sultanapur near Kudatini on Monday morning, police said. Jagadish, 28, from Emmiganur village in Kampli taluk, and Doddabasappa, 28, from Orvai village, died at the scene when a truck rammed into their two-wheeler.

Jagadish was riding the bike with Doddabasappa as pillion.

Both were employed with a private finance company. The accident occurred while they were travelling from Sultanapur to Emmiganur on their motorcycle. Police said the accident was caused by the truck driver’s reckless speeding. The bodies were shifted to BMCRC Hospital, where family members of the victims gathered in grief. Kudatini police rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection. The bodies were later handed over to the families after postmortem.
