Two die in road accident

Two dancers were killed when a truck knocked them down on the Nelamangala-Kunigal bypass road early on Monday.

They were identified as Sahana, 21 and Prajwal, 22, residents of Srirampura. They were working as dancers in movies and in private programmes.

According to the police, the two were returning to the city after a programme.

Sahana was riding the scooter and both were not wearing helmets, the police said, adding a truck bearing Rajasthan registration and heading towards Tumakuru knocked down. The two were killed on the spot.

The Nelamangala traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash driving against the truck driver. He has been arrested and the vehicle seized.
