Buxar: Two separate road accidents in Buxar district claimed two lives, triggering grief among families and local residents on Friday.In the first incident, 23-year-old Adarsh Kumar, a resident of Simri village, died after his motorcycle met with an accident near Majhwari Mor under Simari police station area of the district while he was on his way to Dumraon railway station to pick up a relative.
His bike reportedly went out of control, leaving him critically injured. Local residents rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.In another incident, a 45-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding bus near Geeta Nagar in Basahi village on Chausa-Kochas main road under Rajpur police station area. The deceased was identified as Shrikaval Ram, son of Mukteshwar Ram and a resident of Basahi village.According to police, he was crossing the road with a small child to reach a nearby snack shop when the bus coming from the Buxar side hit him. The bus dragged him several metres, killing him on the spot. The child escaped unhurt.Rajpur SHO Niwas Kumar reached the spot with a police team, persuaded the protesters to lift the blockade and restored traffic movement. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital, Buxar, for postmortem. Police have seized the bus and launched a search for the absconding driver.
