Two from Gujarat detained in Punjab with ₹85L angadia cash

Ahmedabad: Kalupur police have registered a complaint after two men accused of fleeing Gujarat with Rs 85 lakh belonging to an angadia firm were caught in Punjab with the cash.The complaint was filed by Pradipsinh Jadeja, 29, a manager at an angadia firm operating from Rajkot.

According to the FIR, three separate cash consignments totalling Rs 85 lakh were sent on June 26, 2026, for the firm’s Kalupur-Ratanpol operations.

The consignments comprised Rs 50 lakh from a Morbi-based enterprise, Rs 20 lakh routed through an angadia branch from Gandhidham, and Rs 15 lakh linked to another Gandhidham-based enterprise.Jadeja told police that he had instructed an employee to collect the payments.

When the employee failed to return and his phone was switched off, the complainant contacted the angadia offices and learned that the cash had already been collected.Police said CCTV footage from one location allegedly showed the employee leaving with the parcel along with another man.After efforts to trace the two men and inquiries with relatives yielded no result, the firm was later informed that police had detained them in Amritsar with the cash. Police said they are coordinating with Punjab Police to secure the custody of the accused, verify the recovered amount and establish the sequence of events. Kalupur police have registered a case of criminal breach of trust and other provisions of BNS.
