Two get life-term until death in 2019 gangrape & murder

Bhopal: A special POCSO court in Bhopal on Wednesday sentenced both the accused in the sensational gangrape and murder of a 12-year-old girl at Manuabhan Tekri in Koh-e-fiza police station area to life imprisonment till death, while also directing the State Legal Aid Authority to pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim’s family.In an incident that sent shockwaves across the country on April 30, 2019, the minor girl had been to Manuabhan Tekri with a relative and a male friend, when the accused, identified as Avinash Sahu and Justin, took turns to rape her before smashing her head with a stone and throwing her body into a gorge.After the girl was reported missing by her family, the police launched a search operation while also detaining the duo for questioning. They eventually confessed to the crime and revealed where they had dumped the body.Based on their information, the body of the girl was recovered from a 100-feet deep gorge.
