Luka Doncic is having quite a week off the court! Just days after a photo of him with tennis legend Maria Sharapova went viral following the Lakers' overtime win against the Denver Nuggets, Doncic is back in the headlines for another sports crossover moment.

This time it is Carlos Alcaraz who made his way courtside and the moment between the two global superstars has sent fans into a frenzy all over again.

Luka Doncic, Carlos Alcaraz and the week that broke the internet

When Alcaraz, the reigning world No. 1 in tennis and the biggest name heading into the Miami Open this week, walked over to congratulate him courtside, the two shook hands, hugged and shared a conversation that cameras caught and the internet immediately ran with. The Spanish champion is in Miami preparing for his title defence at the ATP Masters 1000 event, making his courtside appearance all the more unexpected and fun.

Fans could not get enough of the crossover, with reactions ranging from the genuinely curious to the very funny. "Did Alcaraz buy his own ticket, or was it a complimentary one from the home team?" one user asked. Another was more dramatic about it, "Bro flew 5,000 miles to sit courtside and still got more camera time than half the Lakers bench." A third one wrote, "Two GOATS in one frame".

The context makes the Alcaraz moment even more special. Doncic had just put up 60 points to power the Los Angeles Lakers to a 134-126 win over the Miami Heat, their eighth consecutive win. Less than 24 hours earlier, he had scored 40 points against the Houston Rockets, with a flight between Houston and Miami in between. The 60-point performance was the second-highest of his NBA career, behind only the 73 points he scored against the Hawks in 2024.

Last week, Doncic was photographed with five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova after the Lakers beat the Nuggets in overtime, and that photo went viral instantly. On the court, the Lakers are in brilliant form. LeBron James added a triple-double against the Heat, finishing with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. At 41, James also tied Robert Parish's record for most regular-season games played in NBA history, reaching 1,611 matches. Bam Adebayo led Miami with 28 points and 10 rebounds but it was not enough. JJ Redick's side now sits third in the Western Conference with a 45-25 record and a playoff spot nearly secured.
