Two killed after car hits motorcycle in Bhavnagar

Rajkot: Two men were killed after a car allegedly rammed their motorcycle from behind near Shreeji Party Plot on Ring Road in Bhavnagar late on Saturday night.The deceased were identified as Bechar Bariya (48) and his nephew, Rakesh Bariya (28), both masons by profession.According to the complaint lodged by Mansukh Bariya (50), Rakesh’s father, at Bharatnagar police station, the duo had gone to the Ram Darbar temple in Kaliyabid on a motorcycle and were returning home when the accident took place. The complainant alleged that the Swift car, being driven at a high speed, struck the motorcycle from behind, causing both riders to suffer grievous injuries.They were rushed to Sir T Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.Police said that after hitting the motorcycle, the car also collided with a truck parked on the roadside.A case has been registered against the car driver under Sections 106(1), 281, 125(B) and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
