Two killed, one critically injured in oxygen cylinder blast at Raipur factory

RAIPUR: Two workers were killed and another sustained critical injuries after an oxygen cylinder exploded near a blast furnace at a private factory in Raipur’s Urla industrial area on Tuesday evening.Raipur commissioner of Police Sanjeev Shukla told TOI that the explosion occurred near the blast furnace of a private factory in the Bajrang Chowk area of Urla. “Two persons have died, while one is seriously injured and rushed to hospital,” he said.Police team has just reached the spot and have launched an investigation. According to preliminary information, around 35 workers were present inside the factory when the blast occurred. The explosion triggered panic among workers, following which police and rescue teams rushed to the spot.The identities of the deceased were yet to be officially released till the filing of this report.Police said the exact cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.
