PRAYAGRAJ: Two minor girls went missing from a one-stop centre in Bhuliapur, Pratapgarh district, on Sunday evening under unclear circumstances. The centre comes under the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station.Following the incident, senior police officials formed two special teams to trace and recover the girls, both aged around 16.Superintendent of Police (Pratapgarh), Dr Anil Kumar, informed TOI that two policemen have been suspended for dereliction of duty. He added that CCTV footage is being examined to track the girls’ movements after they left the centre.Initial footage revealed that the girls exited through the main gate after finding it open. Police have also questioned the warden of the centre, who claimed that the girls left without informing anyone.A manhunt has been launched, and cooperation has been sought from neighbouring district police units to help locate the minors.
