Two officers from Army training institute rescued from flooded stream in Maval

Pune: Two officers from an army training institute in Khadki had a narrow escape after their car plunged off a bridge into a swollen stream at Devale village in Maval taluka, around 63km from Pune, on Sunday night.The incident occurred around 9pm when the officers were travelling to Lonavla to pick up two colleagues. According to police patil Rahul Ambekar, they lost their way after following a navigation map and accidentally drove into the flooded stream.One officer managed to swim to safety, while the other was swept away by the strong current and stranded on the opposite side of the bridge.“The officer sought help from villagers, and together they rescued his colleague,” Ambekar said.Villagers later checked the submerged vehicle and confirmed that no one else was inside. The car remained in the stream overnight and was pulled out on Monday morning.
