Two techies die after bike crashes into barricade in Hinjewadi

Pune: Two software engineers were killed after their motorcycle crashed into a concrete road barricade in Hinjewadi Phase III in the early hours of Sunday.The accident occurred near the Metro station close to DLF Circle around 2.15am.The deceased were identified as Hrishikesh Potdukhe (26), a resident of Wakad, and his friend Akshay Kaware (23), a resident of Lohegaon.Sub-inspector Mayur Patil of the Hinjewadi police said Potdukhe, who was riding the motorcycle, lost control of the vehicle and rammed the barricade.“The duo was not wearing helmets and died of head injuries,” Patil said.According to the police, both Potdukhe and Kaware worked for software companies. “We are investigating whether they were returning home or heading somewhere else at the time of the accident,” Patil added.
