Two youths from Muzaffarpur die in Sitamarhi road accident

Patna: Two youths from Muzaffarpur died in a road accident late Friday night in Mohani panchayat under Nanpur police station area of Sitamarhi district. On Saturday morning, locals found their bodies on the roadside and informed the police.Upon receiving the information, Nanpur police arrived at the spot and began an investigation. Their ill-fated motorcycle was also found lying some distance away from the accident site.The police identified the deceased as Roshan Kumar (18), son of Sohan Pandit, and Jitendra Kumar (21), son of Jai Kishore Das—both residents of Ghanshyampur Besi village under Aurai police station area in Muzafffarpur district.According to family members, they travelled from Jhalsi village in Sitamarhi district to attend a relative’s wedding in Bhadiyan village on Friday night. After participating in the wedding procession, they were returning home on a motorcycle when the accident took place near the turn towards Aurai at Manguraha bridge in Nanpur police station area.SHO Rupesh Kumar said prima facie it appeared that an unidentified vehicle hit their bike with such force that the two youths died on the spot. “The exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the postmortem report comes. Police seized the motorcycle and launched an investigation to search for the unidentified vehicle,” he said.Kumar added: “The victims’ families were informed about the incident on Saturday morning. The bodies were sent to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital for the postmortem.”
