Tyson Fury may return to boxing, eyeing fights with Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk. He aims to reclaim titles and avenge losses, especially against Usyk. Decision expected soon.

Irish Boxing legend Tyson ‘Gypsy King’ Fury is potentially eyeing a return to the ring, after his wife, Paris, consented to the decision. He already has a couple of names in his mind that he wants to fight in order to add to his legacy.

Anthony Joshua, his British compatriot, emerged as a potential candidate that he would want to share the square with.

Speaking at an IBA show in Turkey, Fury revealed: “Although AJ has been a rival of mine for ten years, he has been a fantastic advocate for British boxing and has played the game well. I wouldn’t say I hold all the power over him but if he’s only sitting there and waiting for me to come, he could be waiting a long time."

“He might be f***ing 60 by the time I decide I want him – or it might be next week. I am looking forward to contemplating the idea of returning. I am taking it all onboard and I will make a decision in the forthcoming few months. The all-British fight with Joshua will be big and if we both go to our grave – without having fought each other – it would be a travesty for British boxing," he added.

However, Joshua could be sidelined, should Fury get a shot at the reigning heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

“But I feel like, what I really want is revenge. But I only want to fight Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley, in front of 100,000 people, and lift all the belts. That would be my dream," he said.

Fury and Usyk have already met twice in Saudi Arabia.

In their first bout, with their undefeated records on the line – a shot to become the first ‘four-belt’ lineal, undisputed heavyweight champion – Fury found himself on the wrong end of the judges’ scorecards as he lost a split decision to Usyk.

It was later revealed that his wife lost their baby in the follow up to the fight.

“The hardest thing for me around that first Usyk fight was that I could not be there, for the person who has been there the most for me in my life, when she needed me the most. That was the toughest thing." he said.

An immediate re-match was booked as Fury prepared himself to shatter the aura around the now undisputed and still-undefeated Usyk.

Fury, albeit locked in, faced an ever-evolving and elusive Usyk, who outclassed him for the majority of the fight which led to a unanimous decision victory for the Ukrainian.

This ultimately led to Fury announcing his retirement via social media.

This, however, isn’t his first time.

Fury’s license was suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control in October 2016, as his mental health deteriorated and he spiraled into a pit of despair and drugs after winning the world title(s) off Usyk’s compatriot – Wladimir Klitschko.

He wouldn’t stay down for long, as he would make his comeback to the ring in 2018 – setting up the now-famous trilogy with the American power-puncher, Deontay Wilder. Fights – which were microcosm of his heart and grit (and chin) in the face of adversity.

Will Fury make a searing return like before? Where he breaks his losing streak and goes on a title run? Or will the fight with Joshua, or Usyk trilogy definitively mark the end of a storied career? We’ll see.
