In a continuation of regional diplomatic engagement, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has landed in Egypt's New Alamein City after concluding a two-day official visit to Angola.
His arrival marks another step in strengthening long-standing ties with key African and Arab partners.
A warm welcome in Egypt’s New Alamein
On 25 August 2025, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in New Alamein City on a fraternal visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.Upon landing at El Alamein International Airport, Sheikh Mohamed was personally received by Egyptian President His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The leaders exchanged warm greetings and engaged in cordial discussions, reflecting the strength and depth of the relationship between the two nations.
During the welcome, President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's enduring regard for Sheikh Mohamed, emphasizing the unique place he holds among the Egyptian people. This sentiment, El-Sisi noted, was a continuation of the historic bond that originated under the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.Sheikh Mohamed expressed gratitude for the reception and reiterated the deep-rooted nature of UAE-Egypt relations, shaped by decades of cooperation and shared vision across political, economic, and cultural spheres.
Angola visit concluded hours before arrival in Egypt
Earlier the same day, 25 August 2025, Sheikh Mohamed concluded a two-day state visit to the Republic of Angola. The visit underscored the UAE's expanding diplomatic and economic ties across Africa.During his time in Luanda, Sheikh Mohamed visited the Presidential Palace, where he was formally received by Angolan President His Excellency João Manuel Lourenço.His Highness was welcomed with full state honours, including a 21-gun salute, and proceeded to the dais of honour, where the national anthems of both countries were played.
An honour guard was also lined up in tribute to the UAE President’s visit.Following the ceremonial reception, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged greetings with senior ministers and officials of Angola, while President Lourenço welcomed members of the UAE delegation.
