Here's what to expect across the UAE from June 5 to June 8
As UAE residents gear up for a four-day Eid Al Adha break starting Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has released a detailed weather forecast.
The long weekend will bring hot temperatures, some cloud cover, rising humidity, and even chances of rain in specific areas, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re heading outdoors.
Thursday, June 5: Sunny start with blowing dust possible
The Eid holiday kicks off on Thursday with mostly sunny skies across the country, with partly cloudy conditions expected in the northern and eastern regions, such as Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Winds will blow from the northwest at speeds of 10–25 km/h, occasionally picking up to 40 km/h, which could stir up dust, especially during the afternoon.
Residents are advised to keep windows closed during peak wind hours.
The Arabian Gulf will be slightly choppy, while the Oman Sea will remain calmer, making beach outings moderately safe.
Friday, June 6: More humidity along the coast
Similar weather continues on Friday, with partial cloud cover still lingering over the north and east. Coastal residents should brace for higher humidity, especially overnight and into Saturday morning. Winds will shift from northwest to southeast, slowing down slightly to 10–20 km/h, with gusts up to 35 km/h. Sea conditions improve on Friday, making it a better day for water activities and coastal trips.
Saturday & Sunday, June 7–8: Slight rain chances and temperature rise
As the weekend sets in, the NCM reports that overall fair conditions will continue with a chance of rain in some parts of the country.
- Cloud formations may develop over the northern and eastern regions, especially in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and parts of Sharjah and Dubai, potentially bringing light showers during the day.
- Winds will come from the southeast and northeast, blowing at 10–25 km/h and occasionally reaching 40 km/h.
- Temperatures are expected to rise, with some inland areas experiencing highs of up to 48°C.
- Humidity levels could reach up to 80%, particularly overnight and early mornings in coastal areas, according to weather authorities.
Planning outdoor activities? here’s what to know
- Best times to be outdoors: Morning and evening hours, when it will be relatively more comfortable.
- Beachgoers will enjoy generally calm sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea, particularly on Friday and Saturday.
- Pack light, breathable clothing, such as cotton or linen, and carry umbrellas or caps for sun protection, and just in case of unexpected rain in the eastern regions.
