A woman's death during treatment in Udaipur village set off a violent confrontation between her marital and parental families. The dispute ended with her husband being kidnapped and killed, leaving the area tense.

Husband's house was ransacked by relatives of the woman.
A 25-year-old woman's death during treatment in Rajasthan's Udaipur district sparked violent clashes between her marital and parental families, culminating in the kidnapping and killing of her husband, police saidn on Wednesday.
The incident unfolded in Chokhalabara village after the woman, identified as Paru, wife of Pintoolal Vadera, died on April 28 at Maharana Bhupal (MB) Hospital in Udaipur. She had initially fallen ill on April 24 and was first taken to a local hospital in Ogna before being referred to Udaipur as her condition worsened.
Following her death, her husband informed her parental family in Ambavi village. By Tuesday evening, dozens of her relatives allegedly arrived in Chokhalabara armed with weapons, accusing the husband's family of murder. The group reportedly vandalised the house and created unrest in the village.
Villagers alerted the police, who reached the spot, but locals alleged that officers remained passive as the mob damaged property. Fearing escalation, Pintoolal and his family fled the area. The situation was later brought under control, and the group dispersed.
However, tensions reignited again the next morning when members of the woman's family returned. According to allegations, the woman's brother, identified as Karan, along with several associates, kidnapped Pintoolal from the village at gunpoint and took him to Ambavi.
Before police could intervene, the 26-year-old man was allegedly killed.
Authorities said the situation remained tense in the area, and further investigation is underway.
