Uddhav Thackeray in Delhi: Dinner diplomacy with Rahul Gandhi, INDIA Bloc meeting on cards

Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday (August 7, 2025) asked if the National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) has been implemented across the country, after the confusion over the electoral process and SIR in Bihar.

Addressing a press conference, he also said that the country now needs a strong Prime Minister and Home Minister as both of them only act as ‘prachar mantris’ of the BJP. He slammed them saying they disappear when there are disasters in the country. “Manipur is still burning,” the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief said.

Demanding a discussion over the resignation and election of Vice-President, he said, “Why was he removed? Where is he now? There should be discussion on it.”

Mr. Thackeray will attend the INDIA Bloc meeting on Thursday. He will also visit Rahul Gandhi for dinner. When asked if the INDIA Bloc will discuss the possibility of alliance of the Thackeray cousins, he said that the two brothers will take the call together, and that there was no need of a discussion with any third person
