UDF seeks resolution to Pala municipality deadlock

Kottayam: The district leadership of the UDF is trying to resolve the issues within the ruling UDF in Pala municipality.UDF leaders contacted the independent front members and the Congress councillors.

The Congress leaders entrusted with resolving the issue have asked those who have made their differences of opinion public so far to maintain restraint in such matters from now on.The UDF leaders have appealed to all the allied party councillors not to allow the municipal administration to be destroyed over a trivial matter.At the same time, the Congress councillors sticking to the same stance they took the other day are becoming an obstacle to resolving the issue.

The top Congress leadership’s calculation is that a settlement can be reached in all such matters.In the first phase, the leaders are exploring the possibilities of resolving the issue by withdrawing the cases filed against each other. Although there were no official discussions on Friday, the leaders spoke with the Congress councillors on the phone. Some Congress leaders also contacted the independent front members.
