Hyderabad: Investigators are looking for Udgir-based Prabhu, who is allegedly a key procurer of ganja and is wanted in several cases, in connection with the 200 kg ganja seizure made by EAGLE sleuths two days ago.Officials said that Vasantha Jadhav, who was caught recently, is a repeat offender. “On the instructions of Prabhu from Udgir in Maharashtra, she managed to transport 100 kg of ganja on two separate occasions recently. It was on the third occasion that we caught her after a tip-off that she was again involved in transporting ganja,” police said.Investigators said that Prabhu and Vasantha are actively involved in procuring ganja and supplying it in Nanded, Latur, Nizamabad and several other surrounding districts. She had previously been arrested by the Latur police for drug trafficking. “On the instructions of Prabhu, she hired a commercial transport vehicle at Bodhan and travelled in another vehicle as a pilot,” officials said.They were sourcing large quantities of ganja from

. “Prabhu finances his gang members in arranging the logistics. Once he receives ganja in bulk, Vasantha and her associate Ansari are paid ₹10,000 per kg,” she said in her confession.She was wanted in a case registered in Nalgonda district, and police had kept her under surveillance for a long time after she was released from a Maharashtra jail. “As expected, she was caught in Khammam with 200 kg of ganja,” EAGLE officials said.

Prabhu’s another key associate, Anmol, allegedly transferred ₹1 lakh to Devi Singh in Andhra Pradesh for the bulk supply of drugs.“We are trying to trace Prabhu, who is wanted in several cases and has remained elusive. He is running an organised gang,” officials said.After procuring ganja in bulk, he sells it to several individuals who act as his agents in Maharashtra.
