Reflecting on his long journey in music, Udit Narayan said there is no greater joy than spreading happiness. “What could be better than giving happiness to people? Whether it’s through singing songs or making them smile with comedy — it is the biggest gift. If people love you and you are able to entertain them, then you are truly blessed,” he said.
His words come after months of criticism sparked by the viral clip, where he was seen kissing female fans on the lips while they approached him for selfies.

In another conversation with Hindustan Times, the singer dismissed the outrage, calling the gestures harmless and born out of pure fan excitement. “Fans itne deewane hote hain na. Hum log aise nahi hain, hum decent log hain. Some people encourage this and show their love through this… yeh sab deewangi hoti hai. Uspe itna dhyaan nahi dena chahiye,” he remarked. He also clarified that the viral clip wasn’t recent but from a concert held in Australia two years ago.
