Premier League giants Liverpool romped their way to a 3-0 win over Marseille at the Orange Velodrome on Thursday in the UEFA Champions League encounter against the French outfit.
Dominic Szoboszlai, Cody Gako and an own goal by Geronimo Rulli completed a resounding win over Arne Slot’s Reds from Merseyside.
Szoboszlai put the Reds ahead in first-half stoppage time with a free kick that went into the back of the net to give Liverpool the advantage going into the break.
Rulli’s own goal in the 72nd minute of the game put Slot’s men two o the good before Cody Gakpo put the result beyond any doubt with his goal in the third minute of second half added time to secure the victotry.
Elsewhere, Spanish champions Barcelona registered a come-from-behind 4-2 win at Slavia Prague as Hansi Flick and Co registered their fourth win of the ongoing UCL campaign.
Fermin Lopez netted twice, while Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski bagged a goal each after the Pole had turned one into his own net following Vasil Kusej opener.
