Ligue 1 champions PSG registered a comprehensive 3-0 win over LOSC Lille at the Parc des Princes on Saturday in a statement performance as Ousmane Dembele netted twice.

Dembele produced an astonishing chip to put his side two to the good as the Ballon d’Or winner left a couple of defenders flatfooted before outwitting the Lille goalie.

Dembele opened the scoring 13 minutes into the match with a well-placed left-footed shot from outside the box that curled into the bottom corner.

Just after the hour mark, he brilliantly chipped Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer from inside the box to secure his second goal.

Shortly after the break, Dembele found the net again, only to be ruled offside when he appeared unmarked at the far post.

Bradley Barcola, who replaced the industrious yet ineffective Khvicha Kvaratskhelia late in the game, scored the third goal in stoppage time. He capitalised on a defensive error, leaving him one-on-one with Ozer while PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier had a relatively quiet game, with minimal threats on his goal.

Despite their efforts, fourth-placed Lille couldn’t break down PSG’s defence. They did create a notable chance when veteran Olivier Giroud hit the bar with a chip while they were trailing 1-0.

PSG began the match with Dembele, Desire Doue, and Kvaratskhelia, mirroring the lineup that triumphed over Inter Milan in the Champions League final last May. However, they were without key defender Achraf Hakimi, who is set to play in the African Cup of Nations final for Morocco on Sunday.

Although PSG won the league by 19 points last season, Lens have managed to keep pace with the European champions this season with an impressive nine-match winning streak in all competitions.
