Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount gave the Red Devils the lead at Selhurst Park in the Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace as he struck below the wall from an inventive bit of free-kick play.

Mount’s goal in the 63rd minute of the game helped Ruben Amorim’s men turn the tide of the game by taking a 2-1 lead after having previously been a goal down.

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta saw his initial penalty disallowed for a double-touch, before the Frenchman went on to net the re-take the spot kick, which he slotted into the net on the second time of asking too to hand the Eagles the lead, which they took into the half time break.

But, United turnaround began in the second half of the engagement as Joshua Zirkzee levelled after he latched on to a freekick delivered in by Bruno Fernandes. Mount’s strike helped United turn the game on its head as the former Chelsea man’s goal three minutes after the hour mark gave Amorim and Co. the lead.
