Union Minister for Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy, along with several Janata Dal (Secular) leaders, on Monday (June 15) undertook a pilgrimage to Sabarimala, the abode Lord Ayyappa, in Kerala.

Party sources said that Mr. Kumaraswamy had been wishing to visit Sabaramala for some time, and that the visit was a sudden plan. He wore the sacred mala at Sree Subramanya Swamy temple in Kochi and resumed his journey to Sabarimala. “Mr. Kumaraswamy has been to Sabarimala multiple times before. This is his first visit after he became a Union Minister,” sources said.

He was accompanied by JD(S) Legislature Party leader C.B. Suresh Babu, Sharanagouda Kandakoor, MLA, S.L. Bhoje Gowda, MLC, and former legislators Sa. Ra. Mahesh, C.S. Puttaraju, R Manjunath and H.M. Ramesh Gowda, among others.
