United States cares about the relationship with India: Ambassador Sergio Gor

In an exclusive interview with India Today, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor discussed the significance of US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio's maiden four-day visit to India. On Marco Rubio's maiden visit to India, Gor said, "The significance of this visit is that the United States cares about the relationship with India." He noted that the two nations have been building on their partnership, resulting in tangible outcomes such as India's inclusion in the PAX Silica initiative. Gor confirmed that the bilateral trade deal is in its final stages, stating, 'But for all, all in-intents and purposes, the trade deal is done.' Addressing the 'America first' policy, Gor clarifies, 'America first is not America alone,' emphasising that the US relies on trusted partners like India. He conveyed a message from President Donald Trump, affirming that the two countries are natural partners and adding, 'India and the prime minister have a friend in the Oval Office'
