Unleash the Avatar story trailer reveals Persona 4 and Devil May Cry's voice star Johnny Yong Bosch as protagonist Vikram

Aeos Games has revealed a new combat and story trailer for Unleash the Avatar, its Indian Epics-inspired Soulslike, debuting the footage at Bilibili Game First Look and confirming that voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch—known for Persona 4, Bleach, and Devil May Cry—will voice the protagonist Vikram. The trailer follows Vikram squaring off against Kinkara, a servant of Yama, the Hindu god of death. It showcases combat options coming at launch: familiar dodges and parries sit alongside fresher ideas like a ranged chakra attack and a feather prism form. The clip closes on a montage teasing the game's story and characters.Unleash the Avatar is set in an alternate timeline where the barrier between Naraka and Earth has worn away, letting Asuras and Rakshasas cross over.

Players take on Vikram, imbued with a sliver of Lord Vishnu's power and tasked with stopping the demons. The setting marks a shift from the studio's first trailer, which leaned modern. Aeos has said the high-fantasy direction came after fan feedback, and that the original clip was mainly a test of its photogrammetry systems.Aeos Games is a 40-person, self-funded studio in Bengaluru, founded by brothers Varun and Rohan Mayya.

The core team includes veterans who have worked on Ghost of Tsushima and Hogwarts Legacy. The studio is leaning hard on its own tech—a fragmented-chakra combat engine with custom physics, a centrally tuned enemy AI, and photogrammetry assets scanned from old Indian towns. It has also been firm that no generative AI was used in development. The trailer doubles as a wishlist push. With over 21,000 games launched on Steam in 2025, Aeos says wishlists are what keep small projects visible.Unleash the Avatar is a premium, one-time purchase headed to PC via Steam, with a 2026 launch window and other platforms under evaluation.
