Unopposed win awaits G'kopar corporator in mayor election

MUMBAI: Just two days after being named the Mahayuti candidate for the upcoming mayoral election, Ghatkopar corporator Ritu Tawade is set for an unopposed victory, paving the way for her to take charge as Mumbai's mayor.

The election is scheduled to be held on Wednesday at noon. Tawade is poised to become the city's eighth woman mayor. Mumbai last had a woman at the helm between 2019 and 2022. TNN
