The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) entered a Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday, to promote collaborations such as reciprocal access to specialised laboratories, high-performance computing (HPC) clusters and library repositories.
In terms of academic restructuring, the MoU enables active co-teaching, interdisciplinary research and the joint supervision of post-graduate and PhD scholars, operating within the established framework of the applicable AICTE and UGC regulations.
The agreement also envisions offering joint degrees in areas such as VLSI and Semiconductor Technologies and is expected to enhance joint research publications, protect intellectual property rights, joint events and secure competitive joint extramural grants.
As per a release on Friday, the agreement was signed in the presence of in-charge Vice-Chancellor J. Anuradha, Director (IIIT-H) Sandeep K. Shukla, and senior officials from academic and administrative wings.
