VARANASI: In a bid to target organised crime, Bhadohi police and administration are conducting a special campaign for strict action against criminals. Vehicles, including an SUV and motorcycles purchased with illegal money earned from anti-social activities by associates of mafia gang leader Vijay Mishra, were seized under Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act.
The seized vehicles are valued at around Rs 10.55 lakh.According to police, the campaign is being conducted under the guidance of Bhadohi SP Abhimanyu Manglik. As part of confiscating illegal assets of gangsters in the Gopiganj area, police identified and seized vehicles belonging to accused Chandan Tiwari and Gopal Krishna Tiwari alias Bulle. The seized vehicles include an SUV and four motorcycles.The district magistrate of Bhadohi ordered the confiscation of these vehicles under Section 14(1) of the Gangster Act in favour of the state government, and the police carried out the seizure in accordance with regulations.
