UP CM Yogi Adityanath Offers Prayers At Ram Temple In Ayodhya, Meets Saints

CM Adityanath visited Ayodhya and offered prayers at Ram Temple and Hanumangarhi.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Friday. Before visiting the temple, he offered prayers at Hanumangarhi, sought blessings from Lord Hanuman for the prosperity and well-being of the state, and interacted with saints, enquiring about their welfare.

During his visit to Ayodhya, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 126 development projects worth more than Rs 378 crore, besides unveiling a statue of warrior Jhalkari Bai. His visit to Ayodhya comes amid an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the allegations regarding the alleged disappearance of donation funds from the Ram Temple.

Reacting to allegations, Adityanath expressed confidence in the SIT probe and urged people to avoid making unverified remarks that could hurt devotees’ sentiments.

“I appeal to all devotees of Lord Ram regarding the news reports concerning Ayodhya. At the trust’s request, we have ordered an SIT investigation, and I assure you that this probe will bring the absolute truth to light. There is no doubt about that," the Chief Minister said.

The Uttar Pradesh government had constituted a three-member SIT following a request from the temple trust to investigate allegations of embezzlement of donations made by devotees at the Ram Temple.

The controversy erupted after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, on June 7, cited reports alleging that crores of rupees from donations offered at the temple were missing and urged courts to take cognisance of the matter.

The allegations have since triggered a political tussle between the ruling BJP and opposition parties, with the SIT investigation underway.
