The Uttar Pradesh Excise Department has set a new revenue record, collecting Rs 22,337.62 crore till August 2025.
The department’s revenue surpassed last year’s figures by Rs 3,021.41 crore, reflecting higher liquor sales across the state. Increased consumption of liquor significantly boosted the state government’s income.
In August alone, the department generated Rs 3,754.43 crore, which is Rs 174.24 crore more than the revenue collected in the same month last year.
Minister of State for Excise Nitin Agrawal shared the achievement, saying, “The department has broken its own revenue record till August this year.”
