UP woman, aiding grandson park Thar, crushed to death after he loses control

A freak incident in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad claimed the life of an elderly woman when she was crushed by a Thar SUV outside her house. The horrifying episode was captured on CCTV.

The woman was guiding her grandson as the latter tried to park the car inside the premises of their house. After the vehicle went inside, the woman proceeded to close the property's gate.

Security camera footage of the incident suggests that the driver lost control of the car as the gates were being closed, and the vehicle started rolling backwards, with a steep slope at the entrance of the parking space accelerating it further.

The elderly woman kept shouting for help as the Thar came rumbling down but was eventually smashed against a boundary wall on the opposite side of the road by the vehicle.

Family members rushed to the scene in a hasty bid to rescue her. However, the woman died on the spot due to the severe injuries sustained in the incident.

As the matter involved one of their own, the woman's family did not initiate any legal action. The video of the tragic incident has gone viral on social media.
