A woman allegedly planned the murder of her husband in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, but as fate would have it, he survived the attempt, however, not without sustaining injuries, according to a report.

The victim husband was identified as Rajiv, who worked as a doctor’s assistant. His wife, Sadhana, allegedly plotted the murder and roped in her brothers to hire goons to execute the killing, NDTV reported.

How Was Plot Executed And Why Did It Fail?

On the night of July 21, as many as 11 people arrived at Rajiv’s residence, where they assaulted him first and broke his hand and both legs.

They had planned to bury him alive, for which they took him to a forest in the CB Gang area and dug a pit.

Before they could bury him in the ground, Rajiv’s fate took a turn and somebody arrived at the spot. Panicked with the unexpected arrival of a stranger, the accused persons left Rajiv as it was and fled from the spot, keeping the husband alive, the report said.

The stranger spotted him, called an ambulance, and took him to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Man’s Father Files Complaint

Rajiv’s father, Netram, filed a complaint against Sadhana and her brothers, alleging they wanted to kill his son. He also demanded strict action against them.

Rajiv married Sadhana in 2009, and the couple has two children: Yash, 14, and Luv, 8. Although Rajiv owned a house in his village, he and his wife lived in the city. According to his father, they rented a place in the city because Sadhana didn’t want to live in the village.
