US Border Patrol Agent Shot During Robbery Attempt In New York, Trump Blames 'Illegal Alien'

An off-duty Border Patrol agent was shot in the face during a robbery by a moped-riding suspect in New York on Saturday, and the officer returned fire, wounding the suspect.

An off-duty US Border Patrol agent was shot in the face during a robbery attempt in a New York City park under the George Washington bridge, according to authorities. The suspect has been taken into custody, and the victim is expected to survive.

The officer was reportedly shot in the face during a robbery by a moped-riding suspect in New York City, and the officer returned fire, wounding the assailant, according to the New York Post.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, US President Donald Trump said the Border Patrol agent was shot by an “illegal alien" who was apprehended in April 2023, but was released afterwards.

“Last night, in New York City, an incredible CBP Officer was shot in the face by an Illegal Alien Monster freed into the Country under Joe Biden. He was apprehended at the Border in April 2023 but, instead of being deported, was RELEASED. The CBP Officer bravely fought off his attacker, despite his wounds, demonstrating enormous Skill and Courage," he said.
