The US Embassy urged people in Jordan to shelter in place after reports of missiles in the airspace, while Jordan confirmed intercepting Iranian missiles.

The U.S. Embassy in Jordan on Thursday issued a nationwide security alert after reports indicated that missiles, drones or rockets were present in Jordanian airspace. The embassy advised people to seek overhead cover, shelter in place immediately, remain indoors and closely follow local announcements and official alerts. It said the situation is being closely monitored and that further updates will be issued as needed.
The alert came as the Jordanian government said the Kingdom had intercepted Iranian missiles and reaffirmed that its armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any threat facing the country. Authorities also urged residents to stay alert, monitor local media for updates and contact their airlines directly if flights are affected by the developing security situation.
