US-Iran War Latest News Updates Today Live: US President Donald Trump said Friday that he had agreed to proceed with negotiations with Iran, even as he asserted that the ceasefire with Tehran was over. The remarks came amid fresh turmoil in the region after the two sides exchanged strikes.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue ‘talks.’ We have agreed to do so, but the United States has stated to them, in no uncertain terms, that the Cease Fire is OVER! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

The announcement followed an intense two-day wave of US strikes that targeted multiple sites across Iran, which left at least 14 people dead and dozens more wounded, according to Iranian officials.

Ali Khamenei Laid To Rest

On Friday, Iran buried its late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the coordinated US-Israeli strikes on the opening day of the conflict in West Asia.

Khamenei was laid to rest next to the shrine of Imam Reza in the holy city of Mashhad as a sea of people gathered at the site and listened to prayers, with no sign of a public appearance by his son and successor Mojtaba Khamenei.

Mojataba Khamenei, who was named successor soon after the assassination of his father, has remained out of public view since the start of the war.
