US-Iran War Latest News Updates Today Live: The US launched a fresh wave of strikes against Iran early Tuesday, escalating the renewed conflict as Tehran reported casualties from attacks across parts of the south and west.

Iranian state media also reported several explosions near Bandar Abbas, a key port city on the Strait of Hormuz.

The escalation followed US President Donald Trump’s warning that the US would “hit them very hard” after US Central Command confirmed a third consecutive night of strikes against Iran. CENTCOM said the operations would continue to weaken Iranian forces and limit their ability to target civilians and commercial shipping.

Bahrain activated air raid sirens early Tuesday, with authorities urging residents to move to safe locations.

The US military is set to reinstate a blockade of Iranian ports from 2000 GMT Tuesday, while Trump announced a 20% fee on cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump on Monday said that a deal with Iran to end the conflict was still possible, even as American forces launched a third consecutive night of strikes and prepared to reimpose a naval blockade on Iranian ports.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said he believed an agreement remained within reach despite the latest military escalation. “Yeah, I think a deal is possible. Sure, I do,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

The military will begin enforcing a maritime blockade on Iran on Tuesday, the US Navy-led Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) said on Monday.

The blockade, covering all of Iran’s ports, oil terminals and coastal areas, will be enforced for all vessel traffic – regardless of flag – from 2000 GMT on July 14, the center said in an advisory.
