The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has released a video showing its latest strikes on Iranian military targets, saying American forces carried out another round of attacks on July 8 to weaken Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CENTCOM, US forces struck around 90 military targets, including air defence systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage facilities, naval capabilities and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coastline.
The command said the operation followed a previous round of strikes carried out a day earlier. It added that on July 7, US forces hit around 80 Iranian military targets, including more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) boats, in response to what it described as Iran’s attack on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
“U.S. forces remain vigilant, lethal, and prepared to execute operations directed by the Commander in Chief," CENTCOM said in its post on X.
The video shared by CENTCOM appears to show precision strikes and multiple explosions at what the US military identified as Iranian military sites.
The renewed exchange of attacks came after US President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire with Iran was “over", prompting the United Nations, Pakistan and Qatar to call for restraint amid ongoing efforts to ease the conflict.
‘American Threats Won’t Work’
Iran renewed its warning to the United States on Thursday, saying any further military action would trigger retaliation, as tensions surged following a fresh wave of US strikes on Iranian targets.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused Washington of continuing its confrontational approach and said the US had failed to understand that “bullying and breaking promises are no longer cost-free."
“America still hasn’t learned that bullying and breaking promises are no longer cost-free. Let me put it plainly: if you strike, you’ll get hit," Ghalibaf said.
He also asserted that the Strait of Hormuz would remain under Tehran’s control, saying its reopening would depend on Iran’s decisions rather than US pressure.
“Don’t flail around pointlessly, or you’ll sink even deeper. The Strait of Hormuz will only open with Iranian arrangements, not American threats," he said.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported explosions in Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Chabahar and Kish Island. Parts of Chabahar also experienced power outages following the latest strikes.
