Lawmakers in Iran have suggested that no new negotiations with the United States should take place unless firm preconditions are set, Iranian media reported.

The declaration was made during an open parliamentary session on Wednesday.

Referring to June’s 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, Iranian lawmakers said, “When the US uses negotiations as a tool to deceive Iran and to cover for sudden military attacks by the Zionist regime, talks cannot continue as before."

The declaration, delivered by MP Ahmad Naderi, accused Washington of acting in bad faith and coordinating militarily with Israel. It called for a “fundamental shift" in Iran’s diplomatic approach, stressing that negotiations must be reached on clear, verifiable guarantees.

“Preconditions must be established, and until they are fully met, no new negotiations should take place," the declaration read.

The move reflects growing hardline pressure within Iran’s political establishment, as tensions with the US and Israel remain high. The specifics of the demanded preconditions were not known immediately.
