In stoppage time, Gio Reyna produced a moment of brilliance to cap the performance. Collecting the ball just outside the penalty area, the midfielder unleashed a magnificent right-footed trivela that curled past the outstretched goalkeeper and into the far corner.
The stunning finish completed a landmark 4-1 victory, sealing a memorable opening-night performance and underscoring the United States’ impressive start to the tournament.

Despite falling behind, Türkiye continued to control much of the possession. However, Australia’s disciplined defensive structure proved difficult to break down. Arda Güler and his teammates searched persistently for an equaliser after the interval, but Beach remained composed and dependable whenever called into action.
Australia eventually landed a decisive second goal, even as Türkiye appeared to be gaining momentum. Metcalfe produced a moment of quality, striking a low effort from distance that arrowed into the bottom corner and left the Turkish side stunned.
Türkiye continued to push forward in search of a way back into the contest, but the Socceroos remained organised and resilient at the back. Their defensive resolve ensured the two-goal advantage remained intact until the final whistle, sealing all three points and an excellent start to their World Cup campaign.
