Kai Trump, the granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, faced criticism after posting a video on her YouTube channel showing a visit to a high-end grocery store in Los Angeles.In the video, the 18-year-old documented a shopping trip to Erewhon Market, a luxury supermarket known for its high prices and specialty products. The vlog was originally titled “I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon” before being renamed “I Tried the World’s Most Expensive Grocery Store.”During the 19-minute video, Kai Trump browses items inside the store and comments on the cost of several products. At one point, she joked that she was “about to go bankrupt” after seeing the price of an Erewhon-branded sweatshirt listed at $165.
The video also showed her purchasing several items, including a $21 smoothie and a $10 lemonade, before leaving the store. At the end of the vlog, she said the total cost of the groceries she bought was $233.Kai Trump is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and the eldest granddaughter of the president. She has built a large following online and has more than 1.45 million subscribers on YouTube, where she posts lifestyle and golf-related videos.
The video also showed her traveling in a vehicle with Secret Service protection after leaving the grocery store. Members of the US Secret Service are assigned to protect the president and certain immediate family members. The guards also form a protective perimeter for important members of the family. Kai Trump is also an aspiring professional golfer and has earned money through golf-related endorsement and sponsorship deals. According to reports, she has made more than $1 million from such partnerships.
