Vaani Kapoor, who played a key role in the 2019 action hit 'War', has opened up about not returning for its much-awaited sequel 'War 2'. While fans may have hoped to see her reunite with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff on screen, Vaani made it clear she has no resentment about being left out. Speaking during a promotional interview for her upcoming web series Mandala Murders, as reported by Hindustan Times, the actor said she feels "incredibly grateful" to have been part of the original film. "I wish them the best," she added, as she lauded the sequel for its scale, style, and cinematic appeal.

In a light-hearted moment, Vaani references how both her and Tiger’s characters met tragic ends in the first film.
“Me, Sid (director Sidharth Anand), and Tiger are all not there in the sequel. Tiger and I both passed away in War. So I said, if Tiger comes back, I’m coming back too, my friend!” she joked. Her response struck a balance between humour and acceptance, winning hearts for being honest yet graceful.
Celebrating ' War' and welcoming 'War 2'
War, released in 2019 and directed by Siddharth Anand, was a massive box office success, grossing over Rs 475 crore worldwide. The film brought together Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor in a slick action thriller that was praised for its high-octane sequences and glossy presentation.
While the sequel brings fresh faces and a new story, Vaani seems happy to have been part of what she calls the “OG War.”'War 2', directed by Ayan Mukerji, features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as agent Kabir, with Jr. NTR as the new antagonist, Agent Vikram. Kiara Advani also joins the cast. The film is part of YRF's expanding spy universe and is set for a grand theatrical release on August 14.
