Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta starrer crosses Rs 1 crore mark

'Vadh 2’ has put up a good performance at the box office, during its opening weekend, managing to cross the Rs 1 crore milestone.

'Vadh 2' box office performance

The film starring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in lead roles, has earned an estimated Rs 1.21 Cr India net within its opening two-day run.

The film opened its theatrical run with a collection of Rs 50 lakh on its first day. It showed noticeable growth on Saturday, earning an estimated Rs 71 lakh.

With this, the film successfully crossed the Rs 1 crore mark at the domestic box office within just two days of release.

'Vadh 2' vs 'Vadh'

Although the numbers are far less than the collections of other Bollywood films, 'Vadh 2' has managed to rake in collections much higher than its 2022 release, which completed its run under the Rs 1 crore mark. At present, ‘Vadh 2’ is facing stiff competition at the box office from the war drama ‘Border 2’ and the cop action film ‘Mardaani 3’. Despite the pressure from these larger releases and its struggle with screen space and footfalls, the film has managed to hold its ground at the box office.

'Vadh 2' plot

Released in on Friday, the film directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu stars Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta, Kumud Mishra, and Yogita Bihani in key roles.

It focuses on a complex moral maze centred on a widowed prison guard (Sanjay Mishra) and a soon to be released inmate (Neena Gupta).Kumud Mishra also stars as a jail superintendent, whose pursuit of truth in a shocking prison crime leads him to a deadly web of lies and justice.

They can now not just support, but have a chance to carry a film on their shoulders, I feel very good about it.”She further added, “I feel that if films like this continue to be made, then the other actors, their manoeuvrability will also increase, that if they can do it, we can also do it. So, it’s a moment of big pride for me.”The film's performance in the coming days will be crucial in determining how well it can maintain its hold over the box office.
