Those humble training surfaces, far from the glamour of international cricket, became the first chapter in a remarkable story — one that would carry a teenager from a small town in Bihar to the forefront of world cricket and inspire a generation of aspiring cricketers to believe that no dream is too distant.Today, the 15-year-old from Tajpur in Samastipur district has emerged as one of the biggest success stories beyond India. At a time when Bihar cricket was still rebuilding itself after years outside the mainstream domestic structure due to the non-affiliation of the BCCI, academies like Jha’s became crucial centres for talent development.The academy’s philosophy was simple – identify youngsters, develop their fundamentals properly and provide long-term support. Vaibhav entered that system as a child and spent years learning the basics through long, structured training sessions and technical drills.What stood out early was not merely talent but an unusual willingness to learn. Coaches recognised that he absorbed instructions quickly and possessed the discipline required to improve consistently.
