With this, the total number of Vande Bharat trains originating and passing through Varanasi are seven. Apart from these, presently, 150 Vande Bharat train services are operational across the vast network.
Varanasi to Get New Vande Bharat Express Train
Varanasi’s new Vande Bharat train will be an extension of train numbers 22490/22489 Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express. The Meerut City-Varanasi-Meerut City Vande Bharat Express will begin its journey on August 27, 2025.
Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Route, Distance, Travel Time
The Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 783 km in 11:50 hrs. This train will run via Ayodhya Dham Junction.
Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Train: Stoppages
During its journey between Meerut and Varanasi, this Vande Bharat Express train will stop at five stations. These are: Hapur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow NR and Ayodhya Dham Junction.
Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Timings
The train number 22490 Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express will depart from Meerut City at 06:35 hrs and reach Varanasi Junction at 18:25 hrs. On its return journey, the train number 22489 Varanasi-Meerut Vande Bharat Express will leave Varanasi Junction at 09:10 hrs and reach Meerut City at 21:05 hrs.
Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express: Ticket Price
The Meerut-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express train is composed of eight coaches. There are two types of seating arrangements: AC Chair Cars and Executive Chair Cars.
The ticket price for travelling in an AC Chair Car between Meerut City and Varanasi is Rs 1,915. For an Executive Chair Car, this comes up to Rs 3,525.
