Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi’s love story: A look at their relationship from co-stars to proud parents

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi are one of the most adored couples in the Telugu industry. The actors first met on a film set and their quiet romance gradually blossomed into love. Their relationship blossomed into marriage.

In 2025, the couple started a new chapter as proud parents as they welcomed a baby boy.

How Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi first met

Varun Tej comes from the influential Konidela–Allu family in the Telugu cinema. Meanwhile, Lavanya Thripathi, who also works in Telugu films, was raised in Dehradun and began her career in modelling. They first met each other on the sets of their film, ‘Mister’, in 2016. During the shooting of the film, is when they became friends and slowly romance started between the two.

Later, they also worked together in the 2018 space thriller ‘Antariksham 9000 KMPH’.

Before getting hichted the couple kept their relationship largely private and dated for almost seven years while making their name in the industry.

Engagement and dreamy Italy wedding

Finally, they got engaged on June 9, 2023, at Varun's father Nagababu's residence in Hyderabad. It was a close and intimate event attended by immediate family members. There have been reports at the time that Varun proposed to Lavanya on her birthday in Bangalore and got a diamond ring of her.

Later in the same year, almost five months after, they got married on November 1, 2023, in a scenic Tuscany, Italy wedding attended by close family and friends.

Welcoming their son Vaayu Tej Konidela

Last year, in 2025, Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi became parents. They shared heartfelt moments on social media from the birth of their son were his elder cousin megastar Chiranjeevi, welcomed the newest member of the Konidela family on September 10. Later, they officially introduced their son as Vaayu Tej Konidela. Explaining the significance of the name, they shared that Vaayu represents an unstoppable force, devotion, courage, and spiritual radiance, carrying the spirit of Lord Hanuman.On the work front, Varun Tej will be next seen in the Indo-Korean comedy horror, ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ set to release this summer. On the other hand, Lavanya Tripathi will next be seen in ‘Sathi Leelavathi’.
