says 'I want characters to reveal a different side of me'

Abhishek Sharrma has quietly built a steady place for himself on television, and his performance as Devansh in Vasudha continues to win attention. In the ongoing show, he brings restraint, intensity and vulnerability to the screen without going over the top.

Viewers have seen him grow with the character, and that growth reflects his larger approach to acting as well.Talking about how he looks at his career and exploring different shades on-screen, Abhishek makes it clear that he is not interested in repeating himself. For him, planning work does not mean playing safe. “I don’t plan my work in terms of repetition. I plan it in terms of growth,. Every role I sign should add something new to me, emotionally, physically and even psychologically.

I want each character to push me out of my comfort zone.

"At this stage of his journey, Abhishek says he does not want two performances to feel similar - neither to him nor to the audience. He sees every project as a step towards building a body of work that is diverse and credible. “I’m at a stage where I don’t want to repeat myself. I want characters to reveal a different side of me. I am especially interested in roles that are layered and emotionally complex, where the characters are not just good or bad, but real people.

I am still interested in stories that push me creatively, whether they are on TV, OTT, or in movies," he said. When asked about experimenting with looks and styles, Abhishek admits he enjoys physical transformations. He believes appearance can instantly change how a character is perceived. He shared, Every day, I keep thinking, can I try this? Should I go for this kind of look? Maybe I should walk like this. I am careful that these changes are rooted in the character’s psychology.

For me, authenticity matters more than just visual impact.

Even a subtle shift in body language should come from a place of honesty."In today’s fast-changing entertainment space, Abhishek considers versatility non-negotiable. “Versatility is not important; it’s essential,” he states firmly. With OTT platforms expanding storytelling formats, he believes actors can no longer be limited to one image. He wants directors to feel that he can step into their world and adapt naturally.
