With the shifting tides of politics in Kerala, television faces are stepping off-screen to make their mark on the political arena. Following in the footsteps of former Bigg Boss stars Akhil Marar and Veena Nair, Promy Kuriakose—famous for her role in 'Veruthe Alla Bharya'—is gearing up to represent Angamaly for the Twenty 20 party.
It seems like the Malayalam TV stars are set to rule the Rajya Sabha elections this year. After the declaration of participation of former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestants Akhil Marar and Veena Nair, yet another TV celebrity is set to make his debut in the elections.Businessman, social media influencer, and former Verthu Alla Bharya fame, Promy Kuriakose will be contesting in the upcoming assembly elections. He will be contesting from Angamaly, representing the Twenty 20 party. Promy Kuriakose and wife Nitha became the favorites of Malayalam TV after their entry into the couple reality show, 'Veruthe Alla Bharya.' Though they didn't win the title, the duo managed to win hearts with their performances in the show.
After the show, Promy was seen busy with his business ventures. However, Nitha entered the entertainment industry and was seen in both movies and TV serials. Currently, she is playing a meaty role in the popular show, 'Mazha Thorum Munpe.
' The duo also enjoys a huge fan following for their family videos online too.On a similar note, Bigg Boss Malayalam winner Akhil Marar has announced his participation in the elections from the Thrikkakkara constituency. Actress Veena Nair will also be contesting from Ettumanoor. Both the TV celebs are representing the Twenty20 party. Actress and Bigg Boss Malayalam fame Lakshmi Priya had also announced her participation from Perumbavoor; however, there are reposts that she might not be able to contest in the election due to some confusion in her eligibility.
